MLM Training: Day One I’m Feeling Overwhelmed!

I recall my first day of going back to school and the absolute sheer terror that I experienced. I had always wanted to go to college but after dropping out of school after completing grade 11, plus having been out of school 14 years I had convinced myself I wasn’t smart enough to be successful. My professor handed me my course syllabus and with only a momentary glance at it my blood pressure skyrocketed.

I look back now and can laugh at the way I reacted but at the time I felt only impending doom. Everyone in that classroom was going to come to know that I was not college material. When I was in grade school I got reasonably good marks and invested very little time studying in order to get them. If I got a C. in a given topic, who cares, after all I passed. So why did I get so worked up when I went to college?

MLM Training: the Cost of Caring

I found the same was true with network marketing, if you have no burning desire to succeed in your network marketing business then your failing at it or simply existing in it is no big deal. The moment that I told my wife that I would build a network marketing business to help out with our bills the pressure was on. Now my ego was involved-if I failed then I was a failure. Later on I learned that failing is a normal part of succeeding. Success is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying.

MLM Training: You Can’t Get There by Yourself

When I went to college I did so under protest because I was afraid that I would fail. Fortunately I had a supervisor that saw in me the traits needed to be a leader in their organization. Having someone in your corner that believes in you can have a significant impact on your success. That supervisor made some calls to the college and cleared a path for me to be accepted even though the program had been filled for over two weeks. My supervisor’s name was Mike and he told me that if I was getting told no I was talking to the wrong people. He then directed me to go speak to the correct people.

MLM Training: Misery Loves Company

If you’re looking for people to tell you that you cannot succeed in your network marketing business you’re going to find them coming out of the woodwork. It’s not that these people mean you ill it’s just that they don’t want to be left alone in their mediocre lives. Let your fear of failure serve you not take you out of the game. Let those that say you cannot succeed, be the fuel to prove to them that you can achieve success in your venture.

MLM Training-Three Way to Payday

I thought that it was absolutely paramount that I do all of my own sales presentations and close all of my prospects into my business. At first I wasn’t any good at that but over time my closing ability became very skilled. The inherent problem with that type of approach is it is not duplicatable. If you want massive viral success in your network marketing business keep it as simple as possible for new people in your team to succeed. It’s okay to have them do the initial call to the prospect and have them point them to a recorded business overview but the call back to conclude the presentation should involve a more experienced marketer.

Allow your new people the opportunity to learn gradually and to build success on top of success. Remember when you first learned how to ride that bicycle… you had training wheels. Eventually you became competent and didn’t need them. Set an example for your team and encourage them to use you to bring their presentations to a close.
