For some people hearing those words sorry we don't need you anymore can be the most devastating they could never hear. We have become so comfortable with having a job that our self-esteem and hope for a positive future can be crushed when we lose our job.

America was founded on the entrepreneurial spirit-capitalism in the land of opportunity and yet if we lose our job we lose hope. When you take a look at what's happening in America right now we are seeing 50-year-old companies filing for bankruptcy. The pioneers of the auto industry: Chrysler, Ford and General Motors are all barely holding on under the weight of a collapsing economy.

When we were children we were told to go get a good job, show up for work every day and don't be late. If your boss asks you to work overtime don't question it, just do it. In fact if your boss asks you to sharpen five pencils, then you need to sharpen 10. Our parents said that if we did this we would have job security. That might have been true in our parents day but it does not hold up in today's economy. But even when things were great our employers only paid us enough money to keep us from quitting, the idea of getting ahead while getting paid by the hour is just a well-planned lie.

We were told that we should get investments and that when we were ready to retire we could use those investments to offset our living expenses and enjoy our golden years. That is not working out for very many people. The stock market is starting to look like Las Vegas-what goes to Vegas stays in Vegas. People are losing their assets through devalued currency and widespread corporate collapse. This means that for most of the working class America retirement will never happen. We are hearing every day how the government is not going to be able to honour its pension commitment as the baby boomers rapidly began moving into retirement.

The good news is that in this type of environment the home-based business sector thrives. In 2010 one company had its largest year in its 25 years of being in business. This is quite a contrast to the fat cats on Wall Street who are now fighting over table scraps. If you are new to marketing and now find yourself looking for a way to replace your ”JOB” income you are then entering into a home-based business opportunity mecca -the true return to the land of opportunity.

Can anyone succeed in a home-based business opportunity? The answer is a definite YES, however, you will want to arm yourself with the right kind of training. Save Hundreds Of Dollars

I’ve got an MLM success strategy that can literally save you hundreds of dollars if not into the thousands. I took two Mike Dillard courses “Magnetic Sponsoring and MLM Traffic Formula 2 and both spoke heavily about personal branding and how important it is in your long-term marketing success. I wish I would have purchased those courses sooner!

Look Stove, Give Me Heat & I’ll Give You Wood
When I first got involved in network marketing I was told I should get a website to help promote my business and also to purchase some business cards. My gut instinct was on getting all that stuff once I start making some money and then I realized over the next several months that doing it that way made about as much sense as telling a stove to give you heat and then you’ll give the stove wood. So once I came to my senses I promptly got myself three or four different websites and a very large stack of business cards all with my company website and logo on.

I still have a few of my original business cards, I guess I kept them partly as a souvenir and partly because I loved the artwork that I put on them. Sadly as attractive as the cards looked, they became a complete waste of paper when my company went out of business.

“Thanks A Million!”
In another business I had become involved with we had a guest speaker come on one of our calls and he did a presentation on his version of a business card. It was a rather unique design and not one that you could easily forget. Have you ever heard anybody say “I really appreciate what you did, thanks a million!”, or something similar? Well these business cards were actually $1 million bills. One side of the bill looked like a real piece of currency and on the backside there was a place for you to put your name your phone number or your corporate website.

I fell in love with the idea of giving out $1 million bills and so I got myself $1 billion worth. I had so much fun giving out these million dollar bills because people always smiled when they got them and they never threw them away. I still use this type of business card but I have gone down to a lower denomination. I now use $100 bill called Drop Cash Cards, they look very real and just like the million dollar bills on the backside is a place for you to put your contact information.

Brand Yourself Not Your Company
You’re probably wondering where I’m heading with this and it is simply that from an MLM success strategy standpoint business cards make sense, but personal branding makes even more sense. Never, never, never put your company information on your business card. You can put your contact information on your cards and include a domain name on your card that points people to your corporate website. If your company goes out of business or if perhaps you find a business that you believe is a better fit your domain name can easily be pointed to your new website. That means all the business cards that you have ever given out still point to the business you’re currently involved in and not to a corporate website that no longer exists.

Seek Out The “Real” Leaders

All of the top home based businesses have one thing in common, and that is that they seek out people that are leaders in their game.
