You see by definition money is something that has inherent value; however, the dollar bill is simply paper with ink on it. It is only of value as long as the government that printed it says it has worth. Take a look at the picture below. These children in the photo look like they are playing with “Bricks” but they are actually German Marks.

Did you know that in 1923 a pair of shoes in Germany cost about 12 Marks before the war went to 30 trillion Marks (post war). A loaf of bread went from half a Mark to 200 Billion Marks. Even a single egg cost 80 Billion Marks…. How big is your wallet? – Kind of gives new meaning to having “deep pockets” huh?

This is exactly what the Federal Reserve (which is not really federal) does when the US needs more money… They write an IOU and the Federal reserve prints more cash. Well, if this all seems strange and perhaps even hard to believe get over it because it is 100% fact.

Mobile Phone Marketing … Too Complicated?

Mobile phone marketing might appear very complicated at first. Once you know what you are doing, it can be a very profitable strategy. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can lose a lot of money or lose customers. Fear not, the tips listed below can help you avoid this.

Your mobile phone marketing campaign should never replace an existing campaign; it should simply complement it. You should be using mobile marketing in order to keep your current customers and/or to cater to mobile users within your market niche. Just make sure to keep your other campaigns running.

TIP! Keep your material clean in order to keep your brand clean. Sending out raw, unfiltered material, even if you think it’s worthy of attention, can be detrimental to your mobile marketing efforts.

Make sure your customers know their business is appreciated. Give them special offers, discounts based on hallmark goals or even a simple thank you note. They need to know you value their business or they may take it to someone who will go that extra step.

Use your traditional site to drive a lot of traffic to your mobile platform. Urge people that visit your regular website or blog to visit you on their mobile phones when they are out and about. This will give you yet another way to stay close to your customers and potential customers.

I Need Good Grammar To Do Mobile Phone Marketing?

Use proper grammar and spelling when working with mobile marketing. It is ok for a 13 year old to use abbreviations in her texts with her friends; it is not ok for a professional business to use expressions like OMG or L8ER. Also try to limit the use of caps unless it is really called for as in a call to action for immediate response.

TIP! The following tip is one of the most important tips for successful mobile marketing. Always use your messages to target the buying habits and needs of the recipients.

Do not send a message that does not clearly state who you are and what kind of business you have. Make sure your mobile phone campaign contains your name or the name of your brand. If you are just starting a new brand, you should quickly explain what kind if products or services you sell.

It might be a good idea to send useful links and information instead of promoting your products once in a while. People will get tired of received promotional offers constantly and will unsubscribe from your campaign if they do not need new products. Keep them interested by sending relevant content.

When you have an event planned such as a big sale, you can send reminder messages to people. You should probably let people know about it two weeks in advance, and then remind them about the event a few hours before it starts. Do not constantly send messages about one event.

TIP! When undertaking a mobile phone marketing campaign keep in mind that most people look for businesses in their area. Include keywords in your campaign that let’s a potential customer know your local business location and then target the largest audience possible.

If you are deciding to go down a path of mobile marketing for your company, you must make sure that it will work for you. It will work for most businesses as long as you have something to pitch at your customers through the text or call, this way the person will have a reason to come in and buy from you.

So as you can see, mobile phone marketing campaign is not as complicated as it may appear. You do need to research the basics, and methodically apply what you learn. With the above tips in mind, you should be smarter and more effective when it comes to creating your mobile marketing plan.

Marketing Strategy Plan – Through The Looking Glass

I recently got an email from a person wanting to get into the marketing arena and like so many is concerned about getting taken in by a scam as well as making sure that he invests his money wisely. After writing for several minutes I thought I would post my response to him and share it with you. I recall the first time I signed up with a company and looking back there are a number of things I wish I had been aware of. Like always please give me your thoughts and any experiences you may have had when you first started out.

I guess the first thing that jumps out at me is that a $39.00 program is not much money and is unlikely to

Generate much money to you for the first 5 to 7 years if at all. So the question is how much money do you want a home business to generate for you monthly/yearly?

The second thing is that the credibility of a business venture can easily be gauged by the length of time a

Business has been operating – most fail within the first 5 years.

The third question I have is: What the type of market do you have for your product or service – does it have mass appeal?

Finally there are two main types of business ventures:

Low Investment (Low Tier) – (under $500.00) which typically rely on an accumulation of customers/business partners (down-line) – industry average being 10,000 marketers/customers to generate $10,000.00 per month 5 – 7 years

High Investment (Top Tier) – ($5,000.00 or more) 10 customers a month or less to generate $10,000.00 per month Can happen starting month one although Success is based solely on one’s efforts.

Regardless of the Business you choose to go with both require $300 – $500 for advertising. (Most people fail in business due to under-funding. ) Businesses advertise Every month – eg. McDonalds Restaurants. Stop advertising and your sales stop and ultimately your pay check.

Training – Some ventures and affiliate programs offer extended training programs which is great! Coaching is often viewed by people new to the Industry as an added expense

But marketing is a science and by this I mean operating a successful business is repeatable – once you know what you need to do and then do it you ultimately will have success.

There is a significant value in having a mentor that profits from your success since they will have a vested interest in your success. This does not mean that they will invest hour after hour of working with you over the phone or in person but it is in their best interest to review your progress, give you coaching and offer you assignments aimed at helping you reach your goals.

Honestly I don’t know enough about you to say if you would be a good fit with what I do however I will give you some food for thought and an assignment you can do and if you choose not to that is ok.

Mark Hoverson Shared Some Truths Again With Me Today

…… that we both agree on and I wanted to share them with you, I am going to lead this post with some of my observations of the nonsense that takes place in our industry and leaves a lot of good people unprepared and set up for failure. This is only a 2 minute read but it is I believe mega important. I would love your feed back as always. Let’s get a dialogue going on this one.

Duplication Or Deflation

You got involved with a home based business and had aspirations of becoming successful and do it without having to do the 9 to 5 grind. You were given the Power of 3 Elevator Speech and perhaps several nicely drawn diagrams that show quantum growth and it was off to the races. Yet after 3 months of the 5 people you signed up into your marketing team only 2 remained and you were told that even one of those had given notice to drop their auto ship. So much for the team doubling like you had been told it would do.

Help or Hype

Sadly the majority of people that join MLMs have been given the “Lotto Mentality Pitch”. The facts are in and while it is true that Network Marketing is one of the best ways to become successful without needing much upfront capital it does require work. To make matters more challenging this work typically flies in the face of ridicule, rejection and suspicion. As employees we are accustomed to working for two weeks and getting a paycheck but as entrepreneurs we get paid for completing sales. Far too often new recruits are given a simplistic belief that if you join our team you will make it big.

Hype might sell a person enough to join a marketing venture but it will not keep him in the business and this is proven out by the startling fact that most marketing newbies quit their biz within 3 months of starting. Without having the support and guidance of successful leaders the new recruit is unable to build marketing team much less lead one.

Vision or Void

Leaders see the big picture they know that 10 rejections is not a personal reflection of ability. The have the attitude that: “some will, some won’t and someone is waiting, next….” They know they can’t control who will join their business but they can control their productivity. When I say productivity I mean income generating activity. New people to marketing are going blind down a mountain road in the dark without even stars or the moon to light the way. To make matters worse they are told that they have to spend money to make money and that always seems to smack of scam…. After all I don’t pay to go to my job!

Tell the Truth and Lead the Way

Ask your new recruit if working 3 to 4 hours extra each day for the next 3 to 5 years to have a solid income for life would be worth it even if no positive income was generated until then. It would not be reasonable to put 10 thousand dollars in the bank to accumulate interest for a 3 year period and then expect to be able to retire on it and yet that is the belief most people have when they invest 500.00 and have not hit the big time in 90 days. Give your recruits a realistic time line of committing to the business to see the results they are looking for. Let them know what kind of resistance they may have so when they run into it they are prepared and not looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

Mark Hoverson said…

Plug your people into a system that takes the focus off of you. When you work with a Tribe mentality you will welcome your new team member in but then plug him into training that the Tribe provides. This is particularly important when you are as new as your new team member. I was listening again to my mentor Mark Hoverson again today and said to get my new team members into MLSP and then into his Coaching club where the new people receive 1 on 1 coaching by 6 figure income earners.

He said that MLSP provides a ton of marketing training and support and then the coaching club fine tunes the new people. I already believed in the MLSP as an initial step in training my new people so it was great to hear my mentor say the same thing.

Need It or Deserve It?

We need to understand that some people are not cut out for being in business for themselves and that it is ok if they aren’t. Mark said that we need to work with the people that deserve our time and not because they need it. The people that are chronic complainers and require hours of our time can kill our business. He said we need to train our people by leveraging ourselves and focus on those that not only want success but are committed to step outside their comfort zone and go for it.

“James Ray and Mark Hoverson Told Me Something That Changed Everything”

I was listening to James and Mark recently and they shared a lot of really valuable coaching but the most important point that made the biggest difference for me was…. Okay I’m going to share it with you, but first I want to reveal a little bit about myself and maybe you’ll be able to relate more to why this single point had such an impact on me.

Before I got involved in working in a home-based business I worked a number of jobs after leaving high school that paid me enough money to pay my bills and party on the weekends. Everything seemed to be okay as all of my immediate needs were being looked after but then I got married and along with that came to children and a ton of responsibility.

I discovered that having enough money to pay my rent and money for beer was no longer enough. I had outgrown my income and was beginning to sink into a pit of depression and debt. I decided that I needed to go back to school and so for the next three years I focused on improving myself so that I could earn enough money to look after my family.

Immediately following graduation I was shocked to find that the money did not show up on my monthly paycheck; however, within a couple of years I began working my way up as my experience and education began to gel for me. For the next 15 years I was able to generate enough money that I could now take care of my wife and kids; as well as, go back to having enough money to party on weekends.

It was like I would work five days so that I could enjoy two days. Someone I know once told me that most people spend more time planning their wedding than planning their life and that really hit home when my wife became ill. My wife Pat was diagnosed with cancer and was told that she could be dead within a year. We had a little bit of money in the bank but most of our earnings were spent each month on just enjoying the week or the month.

Mark Hoverson and James Ray Agreed…

I had grown very comfortable with just getting by. James Ray told me that in order to be successful we have to adjust our financial thermostat. Mark Hoverson agreed with this and said that when he went through this making that shift he found himself feeling very anxious and fearful even when he began to have some success. James said that we tend to set our thermostat at what we feel most comfortable with and will unconsciously sabotage our attempts to improve when it means we have to change our internal thermostat from what has been our norm.

The single point for me that made the biggest difference was that I had to turn up my financial beliefs thermostat. I had to not only do the activities that could generate a significant income but I also had to believe that I could do it and that I was worth it. James said that no one is better than anyone else but in order to earn more we have to become more.

Mark said that it was important to associate with other like-minded people. That made a lot of sense to me because I had been told all my life things like if you want to be a great pool player then play with great pool players; if you want to play great golf play with great golfers. It’s much easier to adopt a new belief system when you hang around with people who are bigger thinkers in you are.

Mark said that it’s not about focusing on generic terms like financial freedom or six-figure incomes but rather thinking in terms of the kind of activities-specific lifestyle goals that you want to have come into your life. Keep your goals concrete and descriptive rather than jargon-ish.

Mark Hoverson and James Ray Turned Help Me With My Thermostat…

Mark Hoverson and James Ray taught me that I had to change my financial thermostat and for that I will always be very grateful. So let me ask you a question: what is your financial thermostat set at right now and are you satisfied with it. Before you answer that question I want to really clarify what I mean. I’m not asking you if you’re happy, what I’m asking you is, are you satisfied or do you want more for you and your family. Are you living month to month or have you mapped out your life and moving towards your goals?

Here is a crazy, sad truth that Mark told me, the majority of people that exchange time for dollars,(otherwise known as having a job) look at investing in coaching as an expense and as a result, don’t do it. As an employee we are hired to do a job, given some orientation training and we get paid for doing the work. But like James Ray said, “as entrepreneurs we have to become more, if we want more”.

If you want more from your life for you in your family that I’m going to suggest that you start doing what I did and that’s rubbed shoulders who have a bigger vision and direction for their life. I joined my lead system Pro in 2009 and have had a personal growth experience greater than anything that I have gone through in the last 20 years. Anyone who is involved in marketing, I believe needs to connect with this group.
