When I first began marketing I believed that people would listen to what I had to say about my business and either join or tell me that it was not for them. What I found out was, many people became what I would consider verbally hostile or rude. It was not enough for them to say no thank you these people would give me a lengthy lectures on what they believed was the immorality of network marketing.


I Wanted To Quit:


Many times I sat looking at my phone frozen in fear in anticipation of being verbally abused by a prospect. I was told by my coach to not take their anger towards me personally. Yet in spite of this advice I found it very difficult to maintain a positive attitude about calling prospects. Though I was committed to succeeding at network marketing I found myself wanting to quit on a daily basis.



Take Action – Be The Rhino:


It was one thing for my coach to tell me that all I was doing was sorting and quite another for me to internalize that. So when I say to you that the best MLM success strategy is to awaken the rhino within you, what I’m really saying is you need to hang in there focus on where you are going and “charge”. Before you make any calls visualize reaching rude people and you simply dismiss their behavior and let them go. Remind yourself why you are calling on prospects to present your business. Always have more prospects to contact than you have time to reach and you will find that you will not get attached emotionally to the outcome of your calls.


No Short Cuts:


Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts in acquiring this thick armor plated skin; however, the upside is that if you continue to make calls you will find that your focus on finding quality people will overcome any personal anxiety that you may have once had. In the same way that a callous is acquired through repeated actions you will find yourself becoming emotionally calm and resolved in reaching your goals. Amazingly, over time the sting the rejection will disappear and instead of be afraid of reaching obnoxious people you will acquire a sense of compassion as you will come to understand that their anger is not about you but their fear and frustration that is being expressed.
