MLM Success Strategy – Deadly Marketing Mistakes
My MLM Strategy for you is to work on your communication skills and avoid these common communication bofos:
Tail Gating – Every time your prospect says something you immediately follow up with yes or uh huh or right. Tail Gating is bad practice on the road and it is the same when you are presenting your business to a prospect. We don’t want huge lapses in a conversation but we also don’t want to race to fill in a gap that really does not need to be filled. Sometimes your prospect has something they want to share and you are discouraging it from happening.
Not Comfortable With Your Script – Please, take your script and read it at least 20 times ALOUD and then read it another 20 times ALOUD with inflection like you would if you were not reading a script. Then put your script away and say what was on the script to yourself ALOUD 20 more times. Do not think that a script used by a top recruiter will work for you. It is not just the words that give you the success. It is feeling like you are the script and the script is you. Ask yourself what you are looking to accomplish at each stage of your script. Cool people have a problem with this because they think they don’t need scripts and they don’t need to practice – they fail in this business.
Using A Phone – If you were a mechanic you would have your own toolset, if you were a welder you would have your own welding equipment, if you were a farmer you would have farming equipment. Don’t think you are going to make a professional income without a proper headset. Do not go to Radio Shack and get a 20 dollar head set either. Get a professional one – Plantronics makes great ones don’t get the home version to save money – get the office version. It costs more for a reason it has better sound. If you are marketing on the phone, all your prospect has to go on is the sound of your voice. Believe it or not they will know if you are holding a phone to your ear. Also a headset is not a 100.00 Blue tooth for your Cell phone.
Sitting Down – When you are sitting you sound dead on the phone and if you don’t believe me record yourself sitting down and talking and standing up. It is so obvious to the people you call it would be laughable if this was not such an expensive mistake.
Smile – If you are not smiling you sound at best like JOE FRIDAY OFF DRAGNET – very dry and serious. This is not to say that you are suppose to giggle when your prospect says something but when you have a smile you make every word a friendly one and they are listening.
