In my series of what I consider to be the best MLM success strategy I wanted to include planning to succeed. I don’t think anyone can be more easily distracted than myself. Each morning I go to my computer and I can hardly wait to see what e-mail I’ve received. What I’m looking for is some magic e-mail that will give me some really cool marketing strategy that I can add to my toolkit.
Fact #1 : E-Mail Can Drain Your Day of Productivity!
E-Mail should be read at the end of the day when there’s nothing productive left to do. Each e-mail you received carries with it the seed of distraction. Everyone these days is coming up with some earth shattering secret that they are going to release for a limited time and you have to act now.
Fact #2 : If You Don’t Plan Your Day It Will Drain Away!
By planning your day you’re able to prioritize the activities that you need to have done. You need to work on the activities that are important but not urgent. Your goal should be to minimize the number of urgent activities. Too often we focus on non-important activities that are not urgent. The night before you should write down the list of activities you need to have completed and then afterwards number them in terms of importance.
Fact #3 : Schedule Your Interruptions If You Want Maximum Productivity!
Planned interruptions may sound weird or absurd but it can make the difference between productivity and minimal performance. When you have activities that need to be done that are important turn your phone off, turn your Skype off, put a sign on your door – Do Not Disturb etc. Take an inventory of any potential interruptions and then take preventative measures. Identify the times that you will accept and return phone calls – defer all other calls to voicemail.
Fact #4 The Only Targets You Hit Are the Ones You Aim for!
Target your activity goals, in other words determine how many presentations you will do each day before you begin your calls. An example might be you target five presentations in the morning and five presentations in the afternoon. If you don’t set a specific number of presentations for yourself it is likely that you would not even achieve even 50% of what you would have completed if you had set minimum daily activity targets.
Fact #5 Get Your Ugliest Task of the Day Done Immediately, or go buy ulcer medication!
Get the ugly job done now, I don’t think there’s anyone that has procrastinated as much as myself in avoiding the ugly job. There are some things that I just don’t like to do and I’ll do just about anything else to avoid getting that ugly job done. Sadly the longer that I procrastinate, the tenser I get. It can get so bad that at the end of the day I have a migraine. This ugly job has to get done and you will feel so much better when you have it completed.
There is an old saying that if you don’t plan to succeed you have planned to fail and the longer that I’m in business for myself the more I have found these words to be true. The best mlm success strategy that you can have must include effective personal activity management. Money can be replaced but when you waste time it’s gone forever.
