I Don’t Want A Get Rich Scheme:
I remember the early days, when I was just starting out in the industry of Network Marketing and dreams of massive wealth. I recall a fellow drawing circles and lines and telling everyone how in just 12 months I would have several thousand people in my business all creating passive income for me. I made dream boards and started reciting positive affirmations each day. I listened to the leaders in self development that all said that if I could hold it in my head I could hold it in my hand. I didn’t want a get rich scheme but I wanted the freedom to get up when I was done sleeping and go to bed when I was done being awake. I believed that if I had the best MLM success strategy working for me I could pull it off.
An Overnight Success:
Every day I did the deal after my daily stint at my “J..O..B..”! I went to conventions spent tons of money on training because that was what you do if you are serious. Still after everything I did I was still not amassing the riches I had dreamed of. I knew my success would not happen overnight but I saw some people come into the biz and make tons right out of the shoot and I know they didn’t read all the books I had. I knew that there had to be a simple answer and that when I figured it out I would share in the good times also.
The Missing Piece To the Success Puzzle
Over the past 10 years I believe I have identified the “Holy Grail” for success in marketing and it is not sexy, slick, and technical or even a closely guarded secret. The best mlm success strategy is persistence. We live in a fast food generation and everyone wants to have things now. We hate to wait for anything. When that fellow drew all those circles and lines on the blackboard he was being honest about what can happen if you persist. The part about becoming a success that was not mentioned was the degree of commitment needed.
Persistence Means Finish What You Start:
90 % of everyone that buys into the idea of working from home quit within their first 60 days of being in business. On average conventional brick and mortar businesses never clear a profit in their first 5 years of operation. When the entrepreneur takes out an operating loan to get started he would never quit in the first 60 days because he understands economics and what is necessary to build a customer base. So when you consider that 90 % of all people starting in MLM give up on their dreams of owning their own work from home business it is not surprising they describe their MLM as a Scam. They simply were unprepared to be in business.
Servant Leadership:
Network Marketing requires you to help others solve their problems or be a Servant Leader to those they serve, but this is not something 90% of the people can do when they first start their business. It is not that they are not smart enough but they are wrestling with what I call Success Demons.
Top 10 Success Demons:
1. I don’t want to be rich – belief that wealth is immoral
2. I don’t want to approach friends and family – they may judge me
3. I know – not coachable they already have it figured out
4. I’ll try – failure to commit in order to protect the “ego”
5. I have to really figure all this out first – Perfectionism is a fear based form of procrastination
6. I’m not a sales person – justification clause for failure – It’s not my fault
7. Nobody has any money where I live – Excuse to protect “ego”
8. They wouldn’t want to join this – Low self esteem sense of being unworthy
9. I don’t know how to do it – When the why is big enough the how happens on it’s own
10. My sponsor never helps me – Ego protection due to not taking personal responsibility
If you success your best MLM success strategy is persistence. Don’t try to succeed just do it and avoid the ten success demons that steal hope from new entrepreneurs. Plan to be in same business for 5 years without being tempted away to another “deal”.
