MLM Success Strategy Speedometer - Yes I Can Achieve

Step  Seven: Take Responsibility

When I first got involved in network marketing, I  had no MLM success strategy. I received in the mail a package from my new company which included: a couple of CDs, some brochures a breakdown of the compensation plan, a cost outline for the services I was marketing and the do’s and don’ts list. It all felt rather overwhelming initially and my first instinct was to quit before I even started. One of the coaches that I had in my business shared with me a simple mantra that I still repeat to myself 13 years later “If it’s to be, it’s up to me”. Having been employee for two decades I waited for a couple of days expecting somebody to tell me what to do. I probably could’ve waited several months but after two days of waiting, it occurred to me that I needed to figure this thing out myself and make a few calls as needed. Don’t wait for your phone to ring if there’s something you don’t know call someone and find out. Understand that this is your business and you’re responsible for your own success. If you bought a McDonald’s franchise you would not be phoning up Dairy Queen and ask them how to make the best hamburgers.

Step Seven: Positive down, negative up

Getting together with coworkers at the local coffee machine or coffee shop and complaining about how tough things are might have been great for reducing your stress – misery loves company. Things are different now, you are now the CEO of your own business and the morale of your business rests entirely with you. If you’re having a bad day and you would like to vent about how someone hung up on you or you didn’t get your check like you expected, contact the people above you. Never phone the people that you have in your organization and share with them the frustrations you’re experiencing. The people below you need to be nurtured, encouraged and inspired. The last thing you want to do is kill their enthusiasm towards building their business. Remember that attitudes are contagious, so make sure that yours is worth catching!

Step Eight: Follow the leader

As the CEO of your own business is important to be aware that your people will do what you do. If you don’t make any phone calls, book any appointments, do any presentations or sign anyone up into the biz, don’t expect your team to. The leader sets the pace and the one that is the most successful works quickly. I initially thought that if I signed up some great people into my business, they would go out and do the same thing and I wouldn’t have to do anything except deposit the checks in my account. All I thought I had to do was get a few people started and within a year to I would become wealthy. Wrong!  When you stop working your team will stop working and that’s an MLM success strategy that you don’t want to forget.

95% of everybody you talk to is going to reject what you offer and 95% of the people who join your business are likely to quit within 61 days. Fortunately 5% of 5% is what we call MLM success strategy and it will make you extremely wealthy if you don’t join that second 5% in your first 61 days. The resistance that you meet is not a reflection of your self-worth or your future in this industry. Be kind to yourself and have fun.
