That can make you rich, Or we being fed a bunch of MLM Scams?” The quick answer is “no” . Are there people that become wealthy in Network Marketing today or is getting rich in MLM just a bunch of hype? Before I answer these questions I want to share with you a personal experience that I had a number of years ago. Also I want you to know that I love MLM despite what you may think after reading this …..
First a Network Marketing Tip:
Don’t just quit your real job for even the best mlm network marketing opportunity until the checks cash and frequently. Network marketing works or more correctly pays if you become a leader.
I was invited to a meeting about 100 miles away from my home that was promised to be an opportunity of a lifetime to attend. The meeting was held on a Saturday at 1 PM so my wife and I drove up in the morning to ensure we would be on time. Pat and I had gone through some very challenging times but we were very optimistic. Pat had fought a battle with Cancer and was told she was in remission and that the treatments had gone well.
Our Prosperity Sign From Above
We believed that this was a sign that things were about to change for us and this opportunity meeting was going to mark a new beginning of prosperity for us. When Pat had become sick the financial drain on our bank account had been significant. We had lost our home, one new vehicle, and our savings account. We had moved into a tiny condo and were barely keeping ahead of our bills.
Ladies And Gentlemen the Meeting Will Begin Shortly
When we entered the room in which the meeting was to be held, there about 50 chairs set up. We sat down and quietly waited for the presentation to begin and we did not wait long as the room filled quickly. A fellow came up to the front of the room and introduced himself and then invited a gentleman to the front that was to give the presentation. This chap was not overly dressed up but during the presentation he said that he made more in a week than a school teacher in a year. WOW!
Beware Of Circles and Lines
This fellow explained the services his company marketed and then began drawing circles and lines that represented how our business would grow if we did what they would teach us to do. The plan did not seem complicated and the fellow said that even if we messed up on this business plan 98% of the time we would still be rich in a few years. The speaker invited a 23 year old kid to the front and he shared how he went from being dead broke to driving a new Lexus in under 2 years. WOW!
Here is another Network Marketing Tip:
Even the best mlm network marketing opportunity is not going to work for everyone and it is an industry fact that 97% fail, oh and another network marketing fact is that the average network marketer only signs up 2.2 representatives in their entire life span.
So Simple A Kid Can Do It…
I had some marketing experience and I had been a manager responsible for company expansion so I thought if a 23 year old kid can do this, I will blow this out of the water. All I had to do was just sign up 3 people. I had been told that these three would do the same thing and it would just duplicate until I could not spend the money fast enough. The idea of having more money each week than a school teacher earns in a year was too irresistible to pass up. We went for it because after all this was the real deal and even kids were knocking this out of the ball park. WOW!
After 2 Years No Lexus…. Wow!
I worked that business hard for 2 years and even won a trip for two to Dallas Texas for Pat and I as a result of our hard work. I began to meet a lot of very successful people I went to several huge company sponsored conventions and though I was doing well I was not even remotely close to what the youth at that first meeting was doing I honestly believed I could make it work.
In the next segment I will share with you what happened with my business and the success I was to receive – it will shock you. I would advise anyone starting out in MLM – get educated on marketing and not rely on their MLM company to be their soul source of marketing education and also so that you can avoid the countless MLM scams.
