
A good friend and colleague of mine said if you’re going to be successful in MLM lead generation you have to be prepared to fish out of of all sides of the boat. I would add that as you fish out of all sides of the boat, do it simultaneously. In other words your marketing needs to be malleable or flexible using various strategies as circumstances dictate. Having only one or two strategies can limit your ability to recruit and be successful in your marketing endeavor.
Using Postcards - one approach that you can use for MLM lead generation is the use of postcards. Everyone loves to receive a postcard, particularly if it’s handwritten rather than a typed one. The intent of the postcard is only to pique the interest of the person receiving the card enough to go to a website or to listen to a recorded message. The website that you send the person to should require them to opt in order to see the video. That way you now have the person in your contact list and through e-mail can continue to follow-up with this individual. When the person listens to audio recording there should be an opportunity at the conclusion of the recording for them to leave you a message regarding their level of interest in what they heard.
Fire Your Boss Promotion – find an office building with a restaurant and ask the owner if you may post a competition jar on their counter. The competition would require contestants to write two or 300 words why they would like to fire their boss. The winner of the contest would be the one who has the best reasons to fire their boss. A possible prize might be free lunch for one week equivalent to $100 redeemable at that restaurant. The restaurant will be happy to provide this promotion because you’re buying $100 worth of lunches from the restaurant. You can choose to run the promotion for one week or one month it’s entirely up to you. Once the jar is full you now have a jar full of prospects all unhappy with their jobs and would make great candidates for your business. They have already told you why they are unhappy with their job and what you need to do to get them into your business.
Excellent Service – Do You Keep Your Options Open? You go to a restaurant or a store and you notice a person that is doing outstanding work. You let the person know that you have been watching them and noticed that they do excellent customer service. You congratulate them and let them know just how impressed you are. Let them know you have a local business and are wanting to know if they keep their options open to make additional income. They will always say yes and then ask you what you have in mind. Your response must always be – do you have a number that you can be reached at, I don’t want to get into it while you are at work. You collect their name and their phone number and then contact them back to set up a time to meet them and present your opportunity.
I know some people who have figured out a way….. this can happen anywhere and it would go something like this: someone says something like the way the economy is going we could all end up losing our jobs. You respond with – I know some people who have figured out a way to create a full-time income from home because of the bad shape the economy is in. The person that you said this to will always respond with really what’s that? You respond with I don’t have time to get into it right now but if you’re seriously interested, if you have a number I could reach you at, I could give you a call later. Once again you have a name and a phone number of someone who wants to hear about your business and you did this without receiving any rejection whatsoever. In fact they were the one that asked you for the information.
