In Bob Proctor’s “Born Rich” seminar, Bob spoke about limiting beliefs as the reason people fail to achieve. He said that when people are presented with a new idea that does not fit with their beliefs they immediately reject it openly or unconsciously. As a result of this rejection they self-sabotage their efforts creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Joe Vitale in his video the missing secret states that as long as you hold on to a belief that you cannot accomplish something you prevented from occurring.

If you have been in network marketing for any length of time you will have seen dozens if not hundreds of people come and go in your business. It’s not that they wanted to fail, it’s just that they could not see themselves having success. I believe that many people approach success like a scratch ticket in a Lotto they don’t really believe they can do it and so they say things like: “I’ll give it a try”; “I’ll give it my best shot”; “I’ll see how it goes”. Bob and Joe both agree that if you want to achieve something you absolutely have to believe you can achieve it.

Bob teaches that is important to have your goals written down and to read them multiple times a day as though they already happened. Bob emphasizes that if you read or say a particular thing enough times to yourself your subconscious mind will believe it even if it is not true at the time you read it. So when you consider that 95% of the population only controls 5% of the world’s wealth it becomes obvious that they believe their best shot in life is a middle-class existence.
MLM Success Strategy – Employee Versus The Entrepreneur
A significant difference between someone with an entrepreneur mentality versus an employee mentality is that the entrepreneur is less concerned with an immediate income return as he has dogged determination to persist in the face of opposition. The entrepreneur realizes that he is investing his time and money to gain long-term freedom. The employee mentality tends to focus more on immediate needs and believes that failure is something to avoid. The entrepreneur understands that failure is a necessary step in achieving any kind of worthy goal. The entrepreneur’s persistence sets himself apart from other people that are as intelligent or more gifted. This is the secret that Napoleon Hill spoke of in the classic text “Think and Grow Rich.”
MLM Success Strategy- Don’t Take Responsibility for the Quitters
Everyone that is in your company marketing products and services has the same compensation plan; the same products and services; the same websites and training materials. Often people that are failing in business will blame the location that they live in and yet there are people earning six-figure incomes that live 50 miles from the nearest community. People with an employee mentality prefer to blame circumstances for their failure and consider their failure to be a destination rather than a phase. I recall one leader that I met who told to be successful you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince. That was kind of a goofy metaphor but it certainly is accurate. When I first got started I took it very personal when somebody quit, feeling like somehow it was my fault, that I could’ve done more for them .
It does not matter what the goal is an individual wants to achieve, if he or she doesn’t want it bad enough when the first obstacle comes along it’s likely the person will give up and quit.
I don’t recall who gave me these numbers but I do believe them to be fairly accurate:

The Numbers Game
- Out of 100 people 10 will join.
- Out of 30 people that join, 10 will do something.
- Out of those 10 people, 3 will be great.
- Out of the three people that are great, 1 will go wild.
It would be great if we could go to the local store and purchase a top performer for our business, the reality is that it will take a significant amount of recruiting. Just like in a deck of cards there are four aces, you never know when they’re going to show up. Some people to get into network marketing get lucky and their four aces show up early in their career others may work at their craft several years before it happens. Ultimately though, if you don’t quit the people you need to have will eventually show up. When you absolutely believe beyond any shadow of a doubt that you are going to succeed you simply can’t fail because you don’t quit. The only people that are failures are those that quit during the time that they’re failing. Take the attitude that your setbacks are setups for trying again. Oh and one last thing encourage your new people to stop taking advice from broke people who don’t understand marketing.
