When we think about creating goals we often think of New Year’s resolutions and broken commitments to lose weight or quit smoking or quit drinking or some other vice. Every year we joke about what we’re going to accomplish in the New Year; however, the trouble is we don’t take our commitments seriously. So why do we make resolutions and then within a week or two up?



We give up because were not prepared to pay the price. Bob Proctor said that when we set goals one of the first things that we ask our self is: “Am I able?” Both science and theology both agree that human beings have infinite potential, so then the answer is absolutely I am able. However the bigger question is “Am I willing to pay the price?”

Unfortunately there are no shortcuts to success. In order to be great you have got to first be good and in order to be good you must first be bad and in order to be bad you have to get started. Don’t think that you are academically bright you can somehow avoid the being bad stage. Being bad is not an option on the other hand is not a destination it is simply a landmark on your way to success. Please don’t wait  until you get everything right before you get started. Without exception all those that need to get every “I” dotted and “t” crossed before they start, FAIL PERMANENTLY!



Commit yourself to doing your business for one year without even a single thought of quitting. Follow your sponsors’ coaching and don’t focus on your initial results. Being successful in business is limited only to those who are prepared to go the distance. If you need immediate income get a job to support yourself, because when you are new in the industry it is unlikely you will replace your income immediately. It would be awesome if we could quit our job, get $200 worth of leads and immediately replace the income we had at our job but the reality is that it will take some time for us to develop the skills we need and the organization below us for this to happen. The worst thing you can do is to quit your job too soon. Use your job as a funding source for your business.



Invest yourself in your new partners and help them to achieve their financial goals and your reward will be your own financial freedom. In network marketing your success is a result leveraging yourself through the efforts of others. There are two approaches to network marketing – one works well the other just has you working hard you can either do networking or prospecting in other words you can either build your business through your team or you consider the phone and dial numbers all day, the choice is yours.



As a leader you set the pace and so you are always prospecting but at the same time you must be developing leaders in your team.My MLM Success Strategy for you is to be aware that your success will happen in due course provided you are kind to yourself. Laugh at your mistakes. Be prepared for success knowing that most people will reject what you have to offer them. This will happen despite the value your business could give them and their rejection is not your fault. When someone says no to your offer it simply means you need to call another and another until you find someone that is interested in what you have. So work the numbers follow the example of the farmer – he plants millions of seeds not a handful ….

#2 MLM Success Strategy - Responsibility 2/2



I believe it’s critically important that when we sponsor people into our businesses we give them a realistic expectation of what is involved and how long it will take for the financial return to occur. If you hype somebody into your business then just as quickly as they join they will leave as well. When we bring on a new representative in our business, it is critical that we encourage and guide them in creating their business plan.



Some of the things that your new distributor’s business plan should include our for them to:

  • Commit to working their business in writing “that no matter what they will not quit”
  • Identify the activities they are going to be doing over the next several weeks, several months and several years in your business.
  • Identify the resources and self-development they will need.
  • Identify their “Why” in detail. Their “Why” are their reasons for doing a business. If their “Why” is big enough when the obstacles come, and they will, they’ll be able to stay in the game. If there “Why” is too small, then first challenge that comes along will take them out.
  • Commit to persistence and consistency



Being successful in business is going to be the result of a marathon and not a sprint. Once again it is critical that our new consultants understand that this is a long-term project and that we are going to work with them until they achieve the income that they seek.



We need to prepare our new consultants for this failure that they are going to go through. Sugar-coating ones business to a prospect is setting them up for failure. When your new consultant understands that they will have to go through a period of failure when it happens to them they can look at failure in say I knew you were coming and I’m ready! You’re not taking me out!



All experienced people in marketing understand that 95% of the people that we talked to are not likely going to join our business. So when we call people and introduce them to our business and they reject it they are not rejecting the new distributor they are rejecting the business or perhaps worded differently our solution to their problem. So my mlm success strategy for anyone starting out is that you understand that the secret to your success is that accept that you must fail your way to success and that failure is ok and necessary. I once heard it said that you can’t look good and get better at the same time all successful people know this and understand it to be true.



If you’re not failing in your business then you’re not working your business and if something is worth doing it’s worth doing badly. You will never achieve success until you understand this simple secret you must deal your way to success and the only people that cross the finish line are those that are prepared to do that. I would also like to suggest that your success in your business will be directly proportionate to the amount that you help others achieve their goals. So take the focus off of yourself and become a servant leader and AL Williams said “do it and do it and do it and do it” until you achieve the success you desire because you can’t stroll to your goal. You have what it takes to become a success so make the decision and I’ll see you at the top!

One of the most common questions that people ask successful leaders in network marketing is: “What is your secret to success in marketing?” More often than not, what the new person actually wants to hear is some kind of technical response such as: objection handling, locating prospects and customers or the best book to buy on the topic of sales. I heard an entertaining cliché today and it went like this: “to be successful in any endeavour requires Mind over Mattress”. The lure of being in business for yourself is attractive when we talk about being able to work around our own schedule and being at home with our family. However, it’s important to realize that if you’re not going to work you’re not going to get paid. While it’s true you can flex your schedule you can’t become successful if you don’t do the work.



So many people enter into marketing give up before they’ve given themselves enough time to succeed. For people that have always relied on an income from a job the idea of spending several thousand dollars to go on a holiday to Hawaii does not cause as much fear as investing several thousand dollars into A business. Ironically, building a successful business could position a person to live permanently in Hawaii if the person so chose.



I’ve often heard people say, “Well I’ll get the business cards when I started making some money.” or “I’ll get that website but first of all I have to start making some money.” For the new entrepreneur, being in business can certainly be intimidating and perhaps the risk of loss may be greater than some are prepared for. The awesome thing about being in business though is that while there is a risk there is also a very high reward for success. Napoleon Hill, said that “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve”.

For the first time in the history of our planet a person sitting in a basement office with nothing more than a computer and a phone can compete in the marketplace with the industry giants. Build a website, apply an effective pay per click campaign and some phone work and your business can go on autopilot in countries around the globe.
